Dave Mackey's Kit Fox 7 Project:
Dave Writes (24th October 2011): To all at Rotec.
Thank you. The engine arrived today and it was well worth the wait. What a beautiful piece of engineering. I will probably build a test stand for it on my trailer and give it a run some time but in the meantime It will sit under covers on a stand in the shed. Is it inhibited?
About 10 years ago I got talking to 2 young blokes at an airshow, I think it was Caboolture. They had this radial engine they were promoting. I remember asking them where they had imported it from and was surprised when they told me that they made it themselves. Not a lot impresses me as I don't follow sport and I hate politics but engineering really does. I'll never forgot that meeting or the impression I got from the enthusiasm of those blokes and their passion for their engine. About 18 months ago when I rang and inquired about purchasing an engine, I spoke to Paul and got the same level of enthusiuasm for the product. I figured it was the same guys.
Thanks again. One day I will drop in and check out your factory as I still have good mates in Melbourne from when I was an apprentice at TAA at Essendon Airport in 1980 to 84. They are equally as enthusiastic about my project and would all probably like to do something similiar.
I have included a couple of photos of the engines arrival and I will keep you updated with the build. I may even post something on your builders website but I will need some guidance on this.
Thanks again - Dave Mackey.
